Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Engineer Network – Global Network Engineer (24-488) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It enables U.S. leadership to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, manage networked sensors, and achieve global and regional mission objectives. This position includes both the engineering of new capabilities and the maintenance of existing environments. Essential Functions: Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.

Work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently at times on large field projects.

Proven troubleshooting skills.

Basic Qualifications: An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

DoD 8140 certification at

IAT Level II

or higher is required to start.

Experience with Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, Juniper routers and switches, Fortinet firewalls, and Palo Alto firewalls.

Experience with WANs, encryption devices, VxLAN, multicast, BGP, OSPF, and Wireshark.

Familiarity with SIPRNet, MDACNet, or other DOD networks.

CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, and Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications.

Understanding the project lifecycle and traditional systems engineering skills.

Experience in reviewing work products produced by a team of engineers for quality and adherence to procedures.

Design, implement, and troubleshoot networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

Working knowledge of spanning tree, trunking, routing protocols, and IP subnetting.

Demonstrated experience in network engineering configuration changes in a complex IT environment.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Current and active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.

Experience planning and supporting network infrastructure deployment is highly desired.

Prior C2BMC network experience is also a plus.

Travel may be required to support both local and remote sites.
