We are seeking a dedicated and focused Associate Underwriter to work closely with our underwriting experts to deliver high quality service to our clients. This role supports our Property Underwriting Team based out of our New York office and offers room for growth into a Property Underwriter position.

Responsibilities
Client Service: Representing the Brand Provide clients with exemplary customer service Maintain relationships with clients and carriers and serve as a point of contact Service insurance policies by answering questions or requests from clients and carriers Communicate with brokers, and carriers to troubleshoot issues and follow up on accounts Handle accounting or payment issues Work with internal team members for ad-hoc underwriting projects and requests Underwriting: Processing New Business & Renewals Process new business and renewal submissions within all systems in a timely manner Correctly classify submissions and renewals (which carriers to choose, if it is a declined class, if rate is not competitive) Choose the right wording to form policy documents Stay up to date on renewal book – send notices and quotes on time (solicit renewals) Complete in-house rating worksheets for binding contracts accurately (Binding) Follow all audit requirements for files (e.g. all subjectivities collected, all missing information received, u/w file notes, etc.) Attend all relevant internal training sessions for contracts, new products, skills Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Minimum 3 years of insurance administration experience in property underwriting and/or brokerage support with excess & surplus lines Proven organization skills and ability with a strong attention to detail Interest in continued education and professional development to obtain full underwriting authority Compensation Package Flexible hybrid work options Health benefits & 401K with employer match Employer paid continuing education courses and designations Many opportunities for career advancement Base compensation for position ranges between $80,000 to $100,000 based on qualifications About Our Company
