Opportunity Overview WSP is seeking a
Civil/ Water Resources Engineer
to join our collaborative team in
Herndon, Virginia . This hybrid role focuses on water resources and land development projects for public and private clients. You will work with professionals who will mentor you towards a successful career.
Your Responsibilities
Prepare design calculations for stormwater management, grading, erosion and sediment control, stream restoration, under supervision of a licensed engineer.
Produce construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, and HydroCAD.
Assist with permit applications, procurement, and construction engineering tasks including site visits.
Prepare reports for clients and agencies, and observe construction to ensure conformance.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, watershed and floodplain studies, and design stormwater facilities.
Develop technical reports, conduct field inspections, and ensure safety compliance.
Help develop project schedules and objectives.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, focusing on Water Resources.
3-5 years relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic AutoCAD Civil 3D understanding.
Strong communication skills and self-motivation.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in related field.
Experience with site/civil design projects and relevant software like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, HydroCAD, ArcGIS.
Knowledge of water resource engineering principles and environmental permitting.
