Overview
Telemetry Architect III – New Glenn at Blue Origin. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a reusable, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle. You will join the New Glenn Launch Systems Analysis and Integration team, leading the team’s impact on telemetry planning, configuring vehicle and marine telemetry, and developing telemetry requirements and mission-specific telemetry plans. You will contribute to the development of tools for managing flight data planning and interfaces with other design and operations tools that tightly couple with mission planning. You will apply regulatory compliance, change control, and safe practices as a foundation to your responsibilities. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. Lead the team’s impact on all aspects of in-flight telemetry planning, including vehicle and marine telemetry configurations. Develop telemetry requirements and provide mission-specific telemetry plans that meet those requirements. Contribute to the development of tools for managing flight data planning and interfaces to other design and operations tools that couple with mission planning. Apply appropriate regulatory compliance, change control, and safe practices as a foundation to responsibilities. Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and system architects to support the design and operation of the New Glenn launch vehicle. Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in engineering or a related technical field 5+ years of aerospace industry experience System development or integration experience, preferably within the aerospace industry Extensive experience using complex data systems and tools Experience with data management Strong understanding of complex systems engineering principles and methodologies Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Preferred Qualifications
M.S. in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related technical field Understanding of telemetry mission planning, including communications intervals and key interfaces between vehicle and external comms systems Experience with integration of RF communication systems Strong understanding of basic network protocols and familiarity with OSI model Understanding of data packet structure Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing Strong understanding of basic digital signal processing for high sampling sensors Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence) Experience with requirements definition and management, preferably using DOORS Next Generation Experience with configuration and product data management tools, preferably Windchill Familiarity with version control, preferably Git Compensation
Compensation ranges vary by location: CO applicants $107,707.00-$150,789.45; WA applicants $117,498.00-$164,497.20. Other site ranges may differ. Culture and Equal Opportunity
