Job Description Plan, organize, train, and direct Meat department associates; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits. Responsibilities Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy and implementation of all company policies. Be alert and assist in store security. Handle customer complaints effectively. Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained. Train and follow up with Meat department associates on temperature logs to guarantee accurate recordings. Perform and oversee pricing and merchandising of products. Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation. Provide input on department budgets, goals, and results. Train and develop Meat department employees, emphasizing customer courtesy and productivity, and ensuring proper utilization of technical skills. Implement company programs and adhere to policies, especially regarding a harassment- and discrimination-free work environment. Make recommendations on hiring, firing, disciplining, demoting, transferring, and evaluating meat department staff. Promote and communicate company initiatives and process improvements positively to team members. Manage people and organize workloads effectively. Supervise and coach team members, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback. Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues. Support and assist through direct interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Minimum Willing to work weekends and holidays. Effective communication skills (written and oral). Ability to make quick, informed decisions. Handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly. Skills in production, merchandising, and customer service related to food products. Understanding of key department operations. Knowledge of applicable laws related to employment, safety, and food handling. Desired Knowledge of employment, safety, and food handling laws. Experience in meat work or food preparation.
