Facilities Janitor Job at R.E. Darling Co. Inc. in Tucson

This position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such information.

General Description:

The Janitor reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. The janitor is responsible for providing cleaning services to the entire R. E. Darling facility. This position requires an individual with a general understanding of cleaning procedures. The janitor must be physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb and reach. Dependability and attention to detail are required characteristics. The Janitor must be willing to assist Maintenance Operators and/or perform maintenance functions when needed. The work environment involves both indoors and outdoors settings and may involve standing for extended periods. The Janitor will occasionally need to lift items weighing between 40-75 lbs.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Achieve daily and specific goals.
2. Provide cleaning services to the entire R.E. Darling facility, including offices, common areas, restrooms, drinking fountains, and glass doors. Tasks include trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wall washing, window cleaning, restroom sanitation, and dispenser refilling.
3. Assist in maintenance tasks such as water chemistry testing, minor repairs, boiler blowdown, cooling tower maintenance, painting, cleaning, and grounds work.
4. Practice safe and efficient work habits, following all company policies and utilizing PPE as required.
5. Report any facilities repairs needed to the supervisor.
6. Support other departments with maintenance support and facility upkeep.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 6 months of experience in janitorial services.
• At least 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance.

Special Tasks and Focus Areas:

• Complete daily tasks timely as assigned.
• Work with maintenance mechanics on minor repairs and upkeep of equipment and facilities.
• Maintain safety standards, follow all policies, and demonstrate dependability and honesty.
