Summary
The Accounting Assistant is a detail-oriented and highly organized member of the Accounting/Finance team, providing administrative and operational support across a variety of areas depending on current needs. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Assistant helps ensure smooth department operations and contributes to the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for the Accounting/Finance department, including mail distribution, scheduling meetings, equipment maintenance, office supply ordering, and making other department purchases
- File paperwork and manage finance documentation retention in storage
- Assist with annual 1099 preparation
- Help with monthly credit card audit process
- Help gather information/documentation for annual financial audit work
- Support purchasing department with workflow including organizational compliance to purchasing policy and document/file management
- Help manage procurement programs
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality throughout all duties

Minimum Qualifications
- Student of Christian Science preferred
- Supportive of Principia's guiding statements as articulated here https://www.principia.edu/about/guiding-statements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Previous accounting education preferred
- Experience with bookkeeping and accounting techniques, procedures and methods preferred
- Experience in a nonprofit, educational, or similar organizational setting is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Experience in data entry, analysis, management, and extraction
Compensation And Benefits
We offer a competitive starting salary range for this position: $19.20 - $21.89 hourly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
