Overview

My client based in Portland, TX is actively seeking an Accounting Manager to contribute to their team's success. As the Accounting Manager you will own the month-end close process across the Balance Sheet and Income Statement and help prepare and review financial statements. This role is on site in Portland, TX and supports a global industrial manufacturer with offices worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable and Receivables team for this business unit.
• Review and reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Contribute to financial analysis and reporting, providing insights for decision-making.
• Prepare documentation and support internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
• Mentor and train junior staff members.
• Help lead the ERP implementation.

Profile / Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• Proven experience in month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Experience preparing internal financial reports to aid decision making.
• Understanding of AP and AR processes; GL reconciliation.
• Strong accounting principles knowledge; regulatory understanding.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP implementations; SAP preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• On-site role based in Portland, TX; relocation within the United States may be provided.
