Overview
AMG Specialty Hospital – Central Indiana Hancock Campus is hiring full-time Unit Secretary – Telemetry Monitor Techs for Days. The position is part of AMG Integrated Healthcare Management Hospital System. Our mission is an unyielding commitment to Patients, People, and the Pursuit of Healing. We are located in Greenfield, IN on the 3rd floor of Hancock Regional Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret cardiac rhythm strips every 4 hours, including rate, rhythm, PR interval, QRS, QT, signature, and title.
- Immediately report changes in patient rhythm to the Primary Care Nurse and post a copy of rhythm changes in the patient’s record.
- Document arrhythmias and/or changes in cardiac rhythm on the report sheet and provide a complete/accurate report to the oncoming technician.
- Operate monitor system, speaker system, and phone system properly.
- Continuously run a rhythm strip during a code blue and complete emergency calls for staff.
- Track monitored patients at all times; keep charts prepped with labeled rhythm strips; maintain par levels and nutritional supplies.
- Keep patient label book up to date and place completed rhythm sheets in patient charts.
- Provide indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting and meet the communication needs of patients, families, departmental staff, and medical staff.
- Prepare and compile records in the Medical-Surgical Unit; participate in performance improvement activities; maintain compliance with regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Telemetry monitor experience required.
- Ability to monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, interpret and explain complex information, and comprehend written and verbal communication.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and human relation skills.
