Production Accounting Analyst
Location: The Woodlands, TX (Hybrid - M-Th in office, Fri WFH)
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of production accounting or related experience to grow their career in a dynamic, supportive team environment.
You will be responsible for validating and managing daily production volumes, ensuring data accuracy, reconciling reports, and working closely with field teams. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates well, and has a strong analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee quality control of production data (oil, gas, water)
- Manage and update production data in ProCount (or similar system), ensuring daily accuracy
- Review, investigate, and correct production allocations and discrepancies
- Reconcile physical run tickets and water haul data with system entries
- Load and process purchaser and transporter statements monthly, ensuring correct allocations
- Prepare and file state and regulatory production reports
- Process prior period adjustments as needed
- Generate and distribute daily and monthly partner production reports
- Collaborate with field staff to ensure well data setup accuracy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- 1-2 years of production accounting or energy industry experience preferred
- Proficient with ProCount, Carte, or similar production accounting software (experience with P2 systems a plus)
- Knowledge of oil, gas, and water allocations and production data management
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a small team environment
- SQL and P2 reporting experience is a bonus but not required
