As a Shift Lead your main responsibility will be to oversee production floor activities to achieve safe, efficient operation of quality product. Working directly under the Plant Manager, you will direct and assist in the work activities of production employees. You should be comfortable communicating with employees at all levels, following production documentation requirements and ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed. Here’s what is needed to be successful:

• Minimum of one year supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the steel/metals industry
• Knowledge of Steel Technologies raw materials, production processes and quality standards
• Knowledge of and ability to operate all Steel Technologies machines
• Ability to use tape measures, Rockwell tester, micrometers and calipers
• Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
• Ability to read and understand material tags and production instructions
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with all Forklift and Crane training/certification
