Open Rank Faculty Position to Advance Basic or Clinical Research on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementia. Department: RWJ - Brain Health Institute. Salary details: A range of $150,000 to $250,000.
Posting Summary: The Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Research Center at the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) is recruiting a tenured or tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to expand our research portfolio in the basic science of neurodegenerative diseases. We seek scholars with a focus on innovative, rigorous, and impactful translational science in the field of ADRD. Applicants may be from the fields of neuroscience, animal research, human subjects research, clinical research, etc. This recruitment is part of a diversity cluster hiring opportunity towards Addressing Health Equity in Age-related Disorders (AHEAD). The successful applicant will join a collaborative neuroscience community in the Rutgers Brain Health Institute and serve as a core member within the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer\'s Center at BHI. The center is focused on prevention and treatment of Alzheimer\'s disease and related dementias, and aims to establish an interdisciplinary program with opportunities for participation in participant recruitment and clinical trials to speed translation of research into patient care.
Qualifying candidates must have an established scholarly record demonstrating the ability to develop and lead a program of independent, extramurally funded research (NIH or other sponsors) appropriate to the rank, with current active extramural funding. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience:
MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in cellular, molecular, computational, or systems neuroscience, psychiatry, neurology, or related fields with a research focus on Alzheimer's or related diseases.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to develop and lead a program of independent extramurally funded research including a record of leadership of, or contributions to, major successful peer-reviewed grant proposals to the NIH or other sponsors, appropriate to the applicant's academic rank.
Academic credentials that qualify for appointment as an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at Rutgers University, including a record of successful extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications on aging, Alzheimer's disease, or related disorders.
Record of successful multi-disciplinary collaboration and mentorship of students and early-stage investigators.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to translate research findings for academic and non-academic audiences.
Strong interest in participating in the development of the Klein Alzheimer's Research Center and contributing to cutting-edge science.
