Overview
Atlantic Health is seeking a Physician Assistant for Surgical Services at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. The Department of Surgery at Overlook Medical Center is looking for a board-certified full-time PA to join a hospital-based team with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. The role emphasizes OR first assistance, admissions, consults, rounding support, post-operative management, bedside procedures, and patient discharge. The position offers growth opportunities and exposure to high-acuity patients and high-volume DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases. The PA should be collaborative and proficient in all aspects of General Surgery including laparoscopic procedures. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and prior operative experience. Successful candidates will have access to the Da Vinci Robotic system and opportunities to enhance robotics knowledge and skills. Responsibilities
OR First Assisting:
coverage across General Surgery, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, GYN/GynOnc, Urology, Head and Neck, Bariatric, Endocrine, and Thoracic surgery; applicable to the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System. Rounding Support:
assist with rounding on pre- and post-operative patients across specialties (general surgery, surgical oncology, bariatric, urology) in team-based settings with attending physicians, residents, and students. Admissions / Consults:
manage admissions and consults for patients in the ED and inpatient floors. Floor Procedures:
perform procedures such as NG tube placement, difficult Foley insertion, wound VAC changes, bedside I&D, and other indicated procedures. Scheduling:
three 12-hour shifts per week or four 10-hour shifts per week depending on coverage needs. Benefits

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and NCCPA certified 1-3 years of surgical experience; residency-trained candidates preferred, new graduates considered Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey ACLS and BLS required Post-graduate surgical residency/fellowship a plus DaVinci Certification preferred Knowledgeable and comfortable in laparoscopic procedures About Us
