Overview The Cyber Security Engineer will work on various network types and devices with a security protection emphasis, including installing, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing. The engineer should be able to independently build test networks or system prototypes, perform equipment setup and testing, and participate in test report writing. The role may involve developing attack programs to verify security assurance and identifying weaknesses.

Responsibilities

Gather and organize technical information about an organization’s missions, goals, and requirements, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the IA arena.

Perform routine project tasks applied to specialized technology problems and integrate electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems related to IA requirements.

Conduct security assessments and security consulting services; analyze information security requirements and perform certification for C&A processes.

Perform vulnerability analysis and assessment using government or commercial off-the-shelf technologies.

Requirements

Active TS//SCI clearance at the time of application is required.

Education and experience combinations: High School Diploma with 10 years’ experience; or Associates Degree with 8 years’ experience; or Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; or Master’s Degree with 4 years’ experience.

Knowledge of Common Criteria Language and FIPS 140 standards.

Experience with various network types and security-focused device work including installing, troubleshooting, modifying, and testing.

Ability to independently build test networks or system prototypes, perform setup and testing, and participate in test reports; capability to develop attack programs to verify security and identify weaknesses.

Ability to gather and organize technical information about organizational missions and requirements, existing security products, and ongoing IA programs.

Experience performing routine project tasks and integrating electronic processes to resolve IA-related technology problems.

Familiarity with security assessments and security consulting services; analyzing information security requirements; performing C&A certification processes; and vulnerability analysis using government or commercial off-the-shelf tools.

Certifications

IAT Level II Certifications including one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE, CND, SSCP.

CSSP Analyst: one of the following Certifications: CEH, CFR, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA+ Security, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, Cloud+, SCYBER.

One certification from each category must be achieved within the first six months of employment.
