$80,000 -120,000/year DOE Position Summary A leading proteomics services company is seeking a
Research Associate or Senior Research Associate
to join the team. This role involves conducting proteomics experiments on client samples, including sample preparation, mass spectrometry (MS) data acquisition, analysis, and the generation of scientific reports. The position requires meticulous attention to detail and consistency in adhering to SOPs. The ideal candidate will be experienced with proteomics workflows and instrumentation, including HPLC, Orbitrap mass spectrometry, and possibly automated liquid handling. Some lab coordination responsibilities are also part of this role. Major Responsibilities Execute experiments per SOPs, including:
Sample extraction
MS sample preparation
Sample purification/fractionation
LC-MS/MS operations
Generate customer reports using internal bioinformatics tools
Maintain lab consumables and inventory
Perform regular instrument maintenance (e.g., Mass Spec and HPLC calibration)
Assist with method development for sample prep, chromatography, and MS
Present scientific updates as required
Communicate progress and updates with manager routinely Job Requirements B.S./M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
Experience with proteomics sample handling preferred
Strong documentation and attention to detail
Proficient in various sample types (e.g., purified proteins, cell lysates, tissues, fluids)
Ability to follow SOPs and work collaboratively
