Andover, MA, United States (On-site) Contract (36 months) Published a week ago Mass Spectrometry Data analysis purification Analytes LC - MS Laboratory Equipment Research Associate - Mass Spectrometry Summary: A position is available for a bioanalytical scientist to join a protein mass spectrometry laboratory lab in Pfizer’s Pharmacokinetics Dynamics and Metabolism department. The lab-based role will focus on small-scale preparation of biological samples such as cells, tissues or plasma for subsequent mass spectrometry measurement. This includes lysis, protein immunoprecipitation using beads and antibodies, protein digestions, filtration, pre-concentrations of proteins and peptide digests. The successful candidate is detail-oriented and, following training, can operate independently. This position requires demonstrated experience in successfully executing complex bioanalytical procedures. Expertise in immunoanalytical workflows and in protein biochemistry, or proteomics techniques is a plus. We are looking for a scientist passionate about learning and quickly applying new skills to project needs. Responsibilities: Preparation of samples for mass spectrometry analysis Design of experiments in collaboration with colleagues Conduct analytical experiments and method development as needed Identify and exploit new scientific concepts Interpretation and documentation of experimental results Communication of experimental results to team members Maintain high quality record in electronic lab notebook Qualifications: BS/MS degree in chemistry, biological sciences, biochemistry or related fields (NON-PhD) Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3+ years of experience OR; Master's Degree with a minimum of 1+ years of experience Experience with LC-MS biological sample preparation involving a multi-step process to isolate, purify, and concentrate the analytes of interest for the LCMS analysis Experience with the operation of laboratory equipment Works well both independently and as part of a team Collaborative skills and effective partnering skills in a matrix environment Strong data organization, analysis, and communication skills Location/Schedule: This is a fully onsite role in Andover, MA Monday - Friday; First shift Please note contractors are engaged to provide services to Pfizer on a temporary basis in connection with a specific assignment. The individual selected for this role will be offered the role as an employee of Atrium; compensation, medical benefits, fringe benefits and other terms and conditions of employment shall be presented by Atrium upon offer. The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
