We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Safety Manager to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of safety protocols related to mechanical systems across projects or operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and occupational health and safety, with proven experience managing risks associated with heavy machinery, HVAC, piping systems, rotating equipment, and pressurized systems in high-risk environments such as industrial construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas. Mechanical Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Safety Manager to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of safety protocols related to mechanical systems across projects or operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and occupational health and safety, with proven experience managing risks associated with heavy machinery, HVAC, piping systems, rotating equipment, and pressurized systems in high-risk environments such as industrial construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage safety programs specifically related to mechanical systems and equipment. Conduct mechanical hazard assessments and risk analyses across construction sites or operational facilities. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ASME, NFPA, API, ISO, etc.). Lead incident investigations related to mechanical failures, equipment malfunctions, or personnel injuries. Provide technical guidance to engineering and construction teams regarding safety implications of mechanical designs and installations. Develop and deliver safety training programs tailored to mechanical systems, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and pressure systems safety. Audit mechanical installations and work practices to ensure adherence to safety plans and engineering standards. Coordinate with third-party inspectors, regulatory bodies, and internal auditors on safety inspections and certifications. Review mechanical drawings and method statements to identify and mitigate potential safety risks during planning and execution. Maintain documentation and reports on mechanical safety performance metrics, corrective actions, and compliance records.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline. 5 10 years of experience in mechanical safety management within industrial, construction, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments. In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment safety, including HVAC, piping, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, and rotating machinery. Familiarity with national and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ASME, ISO 45001, NFPA, ANSI). Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent HSE certification preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills; capable of influencing field teams and senior management. Proficient in hazard identification, job safety analysis (JSA), root cause analysis (RCA), and risk management. Experience with safety management software and incident tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects. Mechanical design or commissioning background with a focus on safety integration. Familiarity with Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and safety culture improvement strategies. Master s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Mechanical Engineering (a plus).

Working Conditions

Field-based role with frequent site visits to active construction zones or operational plants. Must be able to wear PPE and work in physically demanding environments, including elevated platforms and confined spaces. Occasional travel to project sites or facilities.
