As an

Air Battle Manager (Instructor), GS-2101-12 , you will: Provide instruction for the Air Battle Manager/Weapons Director position, covering theory, classroom, and live/simulation missions on Battle Management Systems functions. Determine training requirements from unit training objectives, missions, readiness reports, and directives. Prepare local course outlines and lesson plans; develop, validate, and maintain unit computer systems training programs. Monitor training status and ensure supplemental/remedial training is completed; develop instructional standards, training plans, tests, and materials. Identify resources and funding requirements; perform cost analysis and student load factor analysis. Evaluate training program effectiveness; participate in process improvement and work with training contractors. Schedule and conduct training for instructors and examiners; conduct tests of sophisticated electronic systems; interface with maintenance and contractor personnel to ensure compliance with manuals and standards. Maintain ongoing classroom and device instruction for system upgrades and ensure compliance with regulations; counsel students and determine readiness for evaluations. Conduct mission planning, scheduling, training, standards and evaluation, and advisor duties; lead Air Weapons Officers and Weapons Directors in weapons control and battle management tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain qualification as an evaluator and as a mission crew member; administer evaluations; analyze data for adverse trends; conduct debriefs and implement improvements; develop testing material for evaluations. Maintain proficiency as a mission-ready instructor by passing standardization/evaluation examinations, and ensure training aligns with master task listings and current directives. Qualifications and duties also include advising crew members on policies and procedures and providing feedback on training requirements and performance standards. Requirements

Conditions of employment

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED Excepted service position requiring membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard, prior to placement. Selected candidate must wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes agreement with requirements. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Probationary period may be required. Direct deposit is mandatory. Access to classified information may be required; must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operations. Must maintain a current Class 3 Flight Physical. Possess a valid state driver’s license where applicable. For positions requiring security clearance, applicant must be able to obtain one within one year of appointment. Qualifications

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:

A full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree meets the GS-5 level requirements. Education
