BDO’s Asset Management and Private Equity Funds practice is a dynamic and rapidly growing practice nationwide, focused specifically on private equity funds, venture capital funds, small business investment companies (SBICs), real estate funds, hedge funds and other alternative investment vehicles. Job Summary The Assurance Manager is responsible for managing financial statement audit engagements for private equity funds, leading the Financial Services practice, and developing recommendations to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures. This role involves advising clients on economic and regulatory risks, identifying performance measures, formulating audit plans, and handling complex GAAP and GAAS questions. The Manager maintains key client relationships, acts as the primary contact for complex inquiries, and supports business development, training, and networking activities. Additionally, this role involves supervising audit teams and participating in office leadership, including problem resolution and delegation. Job Duties Control Environment:

Assess internal controls, supervise audit work, and provide on-the-job training. GAAP:

Apply advanced knowledge of accounting principles, advise on new pronouncements, and draft complex financial statements. SEC and PCAOB:

Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and PCAOB guidelines, review filings, and communicate with stakeholders. GAAS:

Use professional standards to guide audit work and communicate findings. Methodology:

Apply firm standards, oversee audit processes, and ensure quality and compliance. Research:

Conduct authoritative research, draw conclusions, and document findings. Manage engagement profitability, assist in business development, and perform other duties as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities Support teamwork, supervise staff, review work, and provide coaching and performance feedback. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; MBA or Master’s preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience and supervisory experience. CPA or international equivalent required. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of private equity valuation, tax, and regulatory issues. Strong leadership, communication, client relationship, and decision-making skills.
