Job Description BDO’s Asset Management and Private Equity Funds practice is a dynamic and rapidly growing nationwide sector, focusing on private equity funds, venture capital funds, fund of funds, SBICs, BDCs, real estate funds, and other alternative investment vehicles. Job Responsibilities Control Environment: Apply knowledge of transactional flow, document, validate, and assess internal controls; supervise audit staff. GAAP: Understand and apply accounting principles; communicate disclosures; draft financial statements; recognize new pronouncements; discuss complex issues. SEC and PCAOB: Review SEC filings; prepare communications; plan and execute Section 404 audits. GAAS: Follow professional standards; formulate audit plans; employ skepticism; document deviations. Methodology: Coordinate audit activities; apply BDO methodologies; identify critical issues. Research: Utilize authoritative sources; analyze complex accounting issues; document findings; assist in audit planning. Other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide feedback to Audit Associates; supervise their work. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s preferred. Minimum two years of asset management audit experience; supervisory experience preferred. CPA preferred; actively pursuing CPA required. Skills & Abilities Knowledge of accounting controls, professional standards, and regulations. Strong communication, multitasking, analytical, and project management skills.
