Job Summary This position will coordinate, plan, and manage the implementation of environmental programs to prevent injuries or health impairment and to prevent and resolve environmental problems. Standard working hours are Monday- Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime and weekend hours. Up to 50% travel to assigned plants.

Duties And Responsibilities

Regular strategic communication with EH&S Director, site leadership and EHS champions.

Assist the EH&S Director in strategic planning across the region which includes incident response, compliance implementation, training and continuous improvement.

Act as a coach and mentor to site leaders regarding safety tools, concepts, and mindset.

Assist the EH&S Director in facilitation of ongoing regional EH&S calls.

Work side by side with site Safety Champions implementing and maintaining site-specific integrated safety plans, EHS standard work and other Carlisle safety programs.

Conduct comprehensive policy audits throughout all assigned plants and other Carlisle facilities.

Manage/execute targeted EHS projects throughout assigned plants and Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT).

Attend required Regional and CWT management team meetings and safety committees.

Prepare, implement, and execute safety training, site leader onboarding and mentoring.

Serve as primary regional advisor regarding all safety issues for site leadership teams, supervisors, local safety committees and hourly associates.

Maintain close contact with government and members of the local safety communities.

Maintain company compliance with all applicable OSHA and state safety regulations and maintain appropriate reporting and accountability systems.

Stay current on industry trends, issues and technological innovation.

Track OSHA recordable incidents, rates and trends.

Regularly report safety performance measures to leadership.

Lead, track and review assigned site EHS incidents for complete root causes, trends, corrective action completion and regional read-across applicability.

Participate in the strategic planning of manufacturing processes and facility modifications to consider potential environmental and safety related consequences.

Travel up to 50% to assist regional facilities in meeting EHS expectations.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ability to forge the right relationships with associates, site leaders, regulatory officials, and corporate executives to communicate the company’s safety and environmental health policies and accomplishments.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to leverage continuous improvement tools and techniques to sustain EHS implementation.

Ability to build consensus and positively influence a diverse group of co-workers without direct control.

Intermediate knowledge of environmental compliance is preferred; must have willingness to expand current knowledge to include other topics.

Must have demeanor such that facilities view the role as help to their safety system.

Fluency in Microsoft Office programs for policy development, training, tracking and reporting.

Valid Driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 50% overnight.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in safety management or related field and/or relevant equivalent education

EHS related certification by a professional EHS association preferred (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.)

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a health and safety role; multi-site EHS management experience preferred.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing plant environment where the plants may be dirty, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.

Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional overtime or weekends may be required.

Note to California Applicants Per the state's Wage Transparency Act the range for this position is 110K-130K. Actual salary could be greater based on education, experience and other qualifying skill sets.
