Join the Colorado Department of Corrections as a CDOC (SOCIAL WORK/COUNSELOR III) - Substance Use Disorder Treatment in Buena Vista. This position provides substance use disorder services to a special population of offenders, participating in a parolee intensive treatment program.
Job Description
This role includes providing professional behavioral health services, consulting with unit staff, and providing clinical direction to non-clinical staff. The ideal candidate will have a current, valid Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential and one year of licensed experience with the substance use, mental health, and/or sex offender population. Responsibilities
Provides professional behavioral health services to the offender population. Serves as consultant for unit staff regarding assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Provides clinical direction to non-clinical staff in behavioral health care and treatment of offenders. Assures continuity of care for offenders by making appropriate referral and providing necessary information and documentation. Requirements
Current, valid Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential. One year of licensed experience with the substance use, mental health, and/or sex offender population. Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Working Conditions
Must be able to work in a stressful environment, lift arms above head, and withstand impact. Must be able to see and hear in order to observe and respond to potential breaches in safety and security. Equal Opportunity Employer
