Leidos' Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing Facility is seeking an SMT Programmer to join our team to create unique solutions for complex problems. Work closely with MFG and process engineering to ensure all criteria is met in regards to SMT program development. Support the implementation of engineering change orders (ECO) and deviations into New and Existing programs. Understand and support review of Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings and assembly instructions Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities in support of developing machine programs and outputs from Factory Logix (Aegis) Verify completeness of customer supplied PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) documentation files. Generate Pick and Place program from customer supplied CAD files from PLM. Performs programming of various types of equipment such as automated placement ASM SX machine, ASM screen printers, Koh Young SPI and AOI used in product assembly. Supports process improvement efforts through development of tooling, training, and documentation. Basic Qualifications
High School diploma/GED with 2-4 years of prior relevant work experience Ability to interpret both PCBA and assembly drawings to meet customer requirements. Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, specifically related to electro-mechanical assemblies, printed circuit board assembly. Understanding of SMT and Through Hole component processing requirements. Understanding of tooling calibration requirements and material shelf life requirements. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Organized, flexible, and able to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and software that maintains bills of materials, product routings, and production data. Experience working with standards and implementation of standards across cross-functional teams. Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area This is a 2nd shift position. Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics from an accredited university, and at least 2 years of applicable manufacturing experience. Experience with Aegis FactoryLogix software, Solumina MES software or other MES software. Has, or has obtained, certifications in J-STD-001, IPC/WHAA-A-620, IPC-A-610 Experience with Costpoint Material Planning software Windchill PLM engineering design data management software Lean Manufacturing Principles and Application Military and Aerospace assembly techniques This is a 2nd shift position.
