Total Hours per Week: 40. Salary range: From $16.50 to $16.50 Job Summary:
The Day Habilitation Provider in the Developmental Disabilities Department serves as a role model and advocate. Duties & Responsibilities The Day Habilitation Provider ensures consumer safety by providing consistent supervision and observation. Promotes a homelike atmosphere in the Residence and a nurturing learning environment in the Day Habilitation Program. Implements Individual Habilitation Plans and provides training of adult living skills in a dignified and respectful manner. Performs tasks on-site and in the community that involve training developmentally disabled individuals in various life skill areas, which in turn, will promote fuller personal development, enjoyment and expanded independence, integration, productivity, and individualization. Mandatory trainings Attend and participate in all mandatory trainings and ongoing in-service training such as AMAP Certification and administer medications as prescribed, within 90 days of hire. Successfully complete Tube feeding training, Diabetic Training, Colostomy training, and any specialized certification, if required, within 90 days of hire. Education & Experience:
A high school diploma, related experience preferred and a valid New York State driver’s license is required. Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must communicate clearly with staff and consumers. The employee frequently stands for long periods, uses mobility, may restrain consumers when necessary, and reaches for objects. The employee may sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Light duty is not permissible. All SCIP-R physical interventions may be performed as necessary for crisis intervention and prevention. Stair climbing is required where applicable (up and down approximately 20 stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms, multiple times daily). Seniorities and job classifications Seniority level:
