Job Summary This position requires spending 50% or more of your time working remotely or in the field with producers, especially during busy seasons. It offers a variable compensation plan, including team and individual performance incentives with unlimited earning potential.
The Insurance Officer role is ideal for individuals passionate about serving production agriculture, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting local communities. You will have opportunities to acquire new customers and build relationships, focusing on expanding a portfolio of larger, complex operations within a supportive team environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sales:
Serve as the primary agent for crop insurance policies, including Hail Policies and Supplemental Insurance Products. Achieve sales goals, sell various insurance products, communicate options effectively, and prepare and present quotes.
Marketing & Relationship Building:
Develop a personal marketing plan, build a sales pipeline, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Represent the associations at industry events and collaborate with insurance company representatives.
Service & Processing:
Support policy processing, analyze applications, report claims, and leverage customer data for reporting and claims management.
Travel:
Travel 50-70% primarily during the day to meet with customers outside the office.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Finance, or Business preferred.
Experience in agriculture-related sales and service, relationship management, or servicing a large book of business.
Licensed crop insurance agent or insurance company experience is a plus.
Additional Information Our offices are located in Fargo, ND; Omaha, NE; and eastern Kansas, supporting nearly 82,000 producers and agribusinesses with over 2,600 employees.
