Overview
To assist in providing for the security and protection for student, staff and property at assigned site; to gather information to resolve security issues and determine appropriate response; to convey information and provide written support. Base Rate:
$17.53;
Performance Pay:
Available annually;
New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum;
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position;
Class/Calendar:
A13, 9.25 months;
Hours:
Full-time (40 hours per week);

Non-Exempt;

Sick leave, holidays, matched retirement, health and life insurance QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED required Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and public; good verbal and written communication skills Experience working with youth and public preferred Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time Ability to work extra duty events when needed Successfully pass agility test for security staff Successful completion of security training program prior to the end of probationary period DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist campus security officer in the performance of their duties; report problems to campus security officer Observe and monitor student lunch areas, bus areas, restrooms and student/faculty parking lots Issue parking permits and parking violation notices Perform sweep duties when needed Campus patrol; observe and monitor student movement to/from school and during class change Assist students with minor safety/security concerns (locker or bike thefts, vandalism, etc) Assist campus administrators by bringing students to office upon request Assist with extracurricular events as needed Regular and on-time attendance required Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient function of the work unit Supervision: Site Administrator; Security Specialist Campus or Security Specialist Lead Campus AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ORGANIZATION: The district does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex or gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or marital status.
