What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Conduct audits and refund reviews for various taxing jurisdictions related to transaction privilege and use tax - Determine tax liabilities involving transaction privilege, excise, and use taxes, and prepare audit documentation - Perform occasional field audits, which may involve travel up to two weeks in duration - Interpret and apply state and federal tax laws during audit reviews - Collaborate with team members while also working independently with a high degree of autonomy
What is Required (Qualifications): - Minimum of two (2) years of audit-related experience - Relevant degree from an accredited college or university, such as an Associate’s Degree - Valid Arizona Driver’s License - In-depth knowledge of auditing methods, systems, standards, and procedures - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex tax information clearly
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field - Experience with Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and/or LEAN methodologies - Bilingual in English and Spanish - Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standards (GAAS)
