Summary
As a senior member of the Cancer Institute's leadership team, the Director of Radiation Oncology provides overall operational, technical and strategic leadership for Radiation Oncology across physician practices and technological modalities for all network sites. Working under the direction of the VP, Oncology Service Line and with the Chief of Radiation Oncology, responsibilities include leading in the following areas: radiation therapy operations, supervision of staff, technology review, facilities planning/management, general process improvement, network development and implementing department and institute clinical initiatives. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Develops and launches new strategic initiatives, particularly in the areas of new business, clinical strategy and operations. Leads in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of clinical operations across all network sites. Performs other duties as assigned and required for business operations. Works with the Vice President, Cancer Service Line to establish and achieve long range goals for the Department of Radiation Oncology and ensures the implementation of strategic business plans that are aligned with the vision, strategic plans, and goals of the Cancer Institute.
