Overview
We’re looking for a motivated Fall 2026 Co-op - AI Developer to build a simple but powerful internal AI tool for our design and research teams. The tool will help us query our user research reports and analyze design concepts by layering AI API capabilities into a front-end tool design. This is a hands-on opportunity to work end-to-end to build and launch a real internal tool that makes an immediate impact on how we leverage user research within our design organization. Responsibilities
Develop a lightweight application (chat UI + file upload) Integrate with OpenAI APIs (Chat/Assistants, File Search, Vision) Build a workflow to let teammates: Upload research reports, data, audio or video recordings, transcriptions, CSVs, and images Ask questions (e.g., “Do we have any verbatims about the water tank location?”) Get answers with citations from the uploaded sources Receive generative AI feedback on images/design images grounded in past research Implement simple filters (e.g., persona, date range, product area, insight type). Ensure the tool is easy, intuitive, and low-friction for non-technical teammates. Document your work so the team can extend/maintain it. Shift/Schedule & Location

$31.00/hour Paid bi-weekly $5,000 Sign-on Bonus, paid within first 30 days of employment Requirements
Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field Experience with front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, or similar) Comfortable with backend basics (Node.js or Python—Flask/FastAPI) Familiarity with APIs and JSON data handling Bonus: Exposure to AI/ML concepts (embeddings, vector databases) or willingness to learn Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and ability to work independently Excellent communication—able to explain technical ideas to non-technical teammates Please note: This position is limited to persons with permanent right to work in the United States.
