Director of Accounting
to lead and evolve the financial infrastructure supporting their growth.

The Role Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee daily accounting operations and help scale financial processes. Responsibilities include managing the general ledger, month-end close, internal controls, and compliance, while collaborating with client services, production, and leadership to ensure financial clarity across projects and departments.
This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on management, ideal for someone who thrives in a creative setting but maintains rigorous accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Lead all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, GL, revenue recognition, and payroll
Streamline monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain internal controls
Partner with production and client teams on project profitability and job costing
Prepare financial statements and reports for the board
Support audit and tax processes, liaising with external partners
Implement scalable systems and process improvements
Manage and develop a growing accounting team
Contribute to budgeting, cash flow, and strategic finance initiatives
Minimum Requirements (Essential)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
Experience in agency, media, or project-based environments
Proven success in improving accounting processes and systems
Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution
Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications
Experience in a creative agency, studio, or production environment
Knowledge of job costing tools or project accounting systems (e.g., Workamajig, Advantage)
Interest in media, advertising, or content-driven businesses
Experience managing teams in high-growth or startup settings
CPA certification
