The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students. Prepare course materials and lesson plans; grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback. address student questions in line with university, college/school, and department policies. Provide online or in-person academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment. Ensure instruction aligns with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and department policies (including any coordination policies). Maintain office hours and comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Adapt and learn new modes of instruction; be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Cybersecurity, or related field. Plus one to two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Cybersecurity, or related field, plus four years of relevant experience; or JD, plus four years of relevant experience; or Doctorate in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Cybersecurity, or related field, plus four years of relevant experience.
Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment; qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person on campus upon hire.
Salary
