Overview

Serve as the point person for all in-sanctuary Audio, Visual, and Lighting (AVL) production services at Roberts Park UMC. This includes both virtual and on-site production, regardless of whether the equipment is operated by yourself, paid staff, or volunteers. Physical attendance is required during all services to ensure proper operation and to address issues as they arise unless prior approval is granted on a case-by-case basis with your supervisor. Duties and responsibilities

Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade AVL systems, including audio (inputs, mixer, PA), lighting (console, stage lights), video (cameras, switcher, and livestream output) and graphics (computer, software). Oversee weekly services, ensuring an optimal experience for in-person congregants and those watching the live stream online. Manage AVL for additional services, such as funerals and weddings, as required. This will be paid separately to the agreed rate for the Lead Worship Technician role. Ensure a recording of all weekly and auxiliary services is made and uploaded to secure storage for subsequent editing and archive purposes by others. Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and other leadership to ensure services align with the church’s vision. Lead and manage a team of paid and volunteer staff involved in Sunday morning and other services. Train and mentor additional paid and volunteer staff as necessary for production needs. Be a significant part of recruiting people to be members of the AVL team. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

At least 3 years experience in a Creative Arts role (marketing, website management, social media, and graphic design a plus). Familiarity with broadcast production techniques, standards, best practices, file storage, and archiving. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, ProPresenter, Planning Center. Experience building and developing volunteer teams. Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move equipment such as consoles, lights, and cameras, up to 50 pounds. Capable of bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and moving freely to perform necessary tasks. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during services. Comfortable reading from computer screens, including various font sizes from multiple sources. Be able to travel to and from work location as needed.
