Grace Chapel is seeking a skilled experienced worship leader, ready to make a next step in their pastoral ministry career. This position will be the primary worship leader for the Contemporary Sunday morning services at our Lexington Campus, working collaboratively with other campus worship leaders across our 5 campus’s to bring excellence to our Sunday morning worship music. The Worship Leader for Contemporary Services will provide visionary, creative, and pastoral leadership to worship gatherings at Grace Chapel. This role requires more than musical ability—it calls for a leader with broad creative instincts, strong experience in church worship leadership, and working knowledge of AVL (audio, video, and lighting) systems. The ideal candidate is both a skilled musician and a team builder who inspires excellence, disciples volunteers, and curates engaging, Christ-centered worship environments. As the Worship Leader this person will assist in the leadership of the campus congregation alongside the Campus Pastor, helping church members and guests to develop rich, meaningful relationships with each other as we strive to discover life with God for the good of the world. This person will lead the congregation in worship each week alongside a skilled group of volunteer musicians. This is a Full-Time, 40 hour position. Key Responsibilities Plan, lead, and oversee all aspects of contemporary worship services in Lexington and online. Lead congregational worship with excellence and authenticity, primarily as a vocalist and instrumentalist. Curate song selections that reflect theological depth, cultural relevance, and congregational singability. Curate online worship experiences that reach unchurched and dechurched people Creative Arts & AVL Oversight Collaborate with production, music, and teaching teams to design cohesive, creative, and Spirit-led worship experiences. Provide oversight and input on AVL systems, working with technical staff and volunteers to ensure seamless execution. Explore and implement creative worship elements (visuals, lighting, media, stage design) to enhance engagement. Leadership & Team Development Recruit, disciple, and equip volunteer musicians, vocalists, and production teams. Foster a culture of excellence, humility, collaboration, and spiritual growth among teams. Serve as a pastoral presence, caring for and shepherding worship and production volunteers. Work closely with the Pastor of Worship and campus leaders to align services with Grace Chapel’s vision and values. Partner with creative, communications, and pastoral teams on major events (Advent, Christmas, Easter, outreach services). Qualifications A vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, with alignment to Grace Chapel’s statement of faith and values. Minimum of 5–7 years of experience leading worship in a church of comparable size or complexity. Strong vocal and instrumental ability (guitar or keys preferred). Demonstrated experience leading and discipling worship teams and volunteers. Working knowledge of AVL systems (audio consoles, ProPresenter, lighting software, live streaming). Proven creative instincts, with the ability to integrate music, media, and technology into cohesive worship experiences. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and campuses in a multi-site church. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, challenging environment with multiple competing priorities; yet offers loads of fun while winning one more for Christ. Strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules and in pressure situations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a multi-campus church setting. Formal training in music, worship, or related field. Music degree preferred Songwriting, arranging, or music production experience. Personal Characteristics Spiritually grounded and emotionally mature. A team builder who thrives on collaboration and equipping others. Innovative, flexible, and forward-thinking. Passionate about helping people encounter God through worship.
