CHILD AND FAMILY SPECIALIST - 52408. This position is with the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) in New York City. The selected candidate will be offered a salary within the range of $84,863.00 to $97,593.00. The position is open only to permanent civil service title holders of Child and Family Specialist (not provisional). You must be a current employee of the Administration for Children’s Services to be considered. Responsibilities

Facilitate Elevated Risk and Quality Intervention Conferences using the Children Services Family Team Conference Model. Utilize consensus decision-making to involve children, families, service providers and community resources in sound decision-making. Participate in Planning Conferences and Service Termination Conferences to ensure case plan decisions reflect agency values and best practices. Identify and address safety and risk concerns in Family Team Conferences. Uphold state and city laws, regulations, and policy related to delivery of child welfare services. Collaborate with internal Divisions and provider agencies to ensure open communication on individual cases. Maintain fidelity of the Family Team Conference Model. Make referrals and recommendations to Prevention Providers and identify available resources. Engage community representatives to ensure their involvement in Family Team Conferences. Complete administrative functions, including timely documentation and data entry of Family Team Conferences. Facilitate at least two conferences per day; three conferences if clustering is possible. Coordinate with the Division of Assurance regarding provider agency performance. Attend inter-/intra-agency meetings to share information and inform policy/procedure development. Facilitate conferences and conduct case reviews during end-of-contract periods. Participate in workgroups to inform policies and best practices within the prevention continuum. Follow up on case recommendations, resources, and referrals to internal and external resources (e.g., OPTA, APA, CBO). Conduct post-conference follow-ups with prevention services providers and document status in CNNX progress notes. Minimum Qualifications

A Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work is required. A valid New York State Registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with at least one year of full-time, post-graduate experience in one or more of: facilitating family team conferences or family group decision-making meetings; clinical group work with children, youth, parents or families; or professional training on child and family services topics; or A valid New York State Registration as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) with at least three years of experience as described above (up to two years may be in supervision of social work practice areas). At least three years of experience as described in the above criteria. A valid LCSW or LMSW must be obtained within one year of appointment. Note: Employees who do not obtain the LCSW or LMSW within one year after appointment may have probation extended up to six months. Failure to obtain the license by the end of the probationary period may result in dismissal. At least one year of the required experience must have been obtained within the last five years. 55a Program: This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program.
