Overview
Barcel USA seeks a Sr. Regional Key Account Manager – Midwest Market. This role requires maintaining a thorough knowledge of our business and offerings, developing and implementing strategic plans to grow accounts, achieving sales and profitability objectives, managing and strengthening client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver on client and company expectations. As a Senior Regional Key Account Manager, you should be results-driven, with strong communication, customer service, and account management skills. Experience in data governance or IRI/Data analysis and the ability to develop within the team are valued. Responsibilities
Coach and develop a cohesive team, share ideas and strategies, and ensure deadlines are met; manage Meijer’s customer as part of the responsibilities. Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts for all brands/categories. Set and monitor sales targets for each regional account within the territory. Identify potential customers and develop approach strategies. Develop strong, long-term client relationships to be a highly relevant and preferred supplier. Resolve issues and handle complaints quickly and effectively. Negotiate contracts and close agreements. Support sales teams and clients with new features and product launches on time. Gather feedback and suggest ways to increase customer engagement. Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel at assigned customers at all levels. Coordinate involvement of company personnel to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations. Deliver annual volume, manage trade spend, and profit plan for all brands/categories. Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis. Lead solution development efforts addressing customer needs, coordinating with necessary company personnel. Analyze business trends to identify gaps in plan and execution for all brands/categories. Participate in Annual Planning and Forecast processes with National Offices and DSD Team. Develop annual promotion trade plans within Barcel USA’s guardrails, ensuring superior execution through customer engagement and buy-in for all brands/categories. Coordinate Joint Business Planning processes, assortment/segmentation reviews, and scorecard sessions with relevant teams using fact-based selling. Drive account programming by collaborating with national and regional HQ contacts and Operations Sales teams for all brands/categories. Ensure pricing and merchandising objectives align with Portfolio/Brand strategy and account objectives, while managing trade spending efficiently. Lead growth initiatives and monitor category and competitive trends. Identify opportunities for improvement and propose new tools and processes. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Marketing, or related field. Minimum 7 years of strategic sales experience, preferably with a consumer-packaged goods organization. Experience with 3rd party Direct Sales Distribution (DSD) preferred. Language: English required; bilingual in English and Spanish desirable. Travel: Domestic 50%. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software. 5+ years of proven work experience as a Senior Account Executive. Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills. Strong team management skills with the ability to influence and persuade. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and exercise effective follow-up. Solid understanding of financials including P&L impact of sales decisions. Commitment to succeeding within a complex organization with great interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
