Overview
Sr. Director of Construction role at American Family Care (AFC). The position leads Design, Construction and Facilities, ensuring timely delivery of multiple projects including new builds, conversions, and remodels. Responsible for aligning with Real Estate and Franchise Sales teams to support the franchise community throughout the development process and ensuring contracts and development agreements are met. This position can be based in Tampa, FL or Birmingham, AL with travel requirements. Essential Responsibilities And Duties
Meet annual center opening goals, including scheduling site visits, communicating with franchisees during development, and managing AFC’s new unit pipeline. Initiate problem solving on projects with a hands-on approach as needed. Partner with the Director of Facilities Management on oversight of Company Facilities and management of remodel and capital improvement programs. Provide training to franchisees on the fundamentals of construction during site visits, home office training, and regional meetings/workshops. Review final design and construction budgets in Site Acceptance Packages (SAP) prior to submission to Real Estate Committee; ensure site and lease terms meet company criteria. Assist Real Estate with negotiation and maintenance of terms for construction requirements in AFC’s template letters of intent; review lease provisions to ensure alignment with criteria. Manage the development, strategic planning, and implementation of construction projects from start to finish. Communicate construction project expectations to team members and stakeholders; manage project expectations continually. Utilize and maintain tools and systems for pipeline and budget management with live and historical performance data. Develop and manage a national network of outside vendors and suppliers to build AFC locations efficiently, with high quality and cost-effective investments, delivering a positive franchisee experience from due diligence through warranty work. Submit weekly status reports identifying date changes or risks to the pipeline. Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer on setting department objectives and accountability for staff. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction sciences 5+ years of supervisory experience in construction, architecture/design and/or facilities management Preferred: experience in retail and franchising This is a remote position.
