Regional Chief Engineer, Operations, Data Center Engg Ops at AWS Infrastructure Services. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Regional Chief Engineer (CE) to join our Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team. This group maintains the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS, ensuring safe and secure operation of the data center\'s Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure to provide 99.999% availability. In this region, High Voltage Sub-Station (HVSS) experience is especially valuable given the PHX infrastructure layout. The Regional CE is responsible for ensuring that all MEP equipment within the region is operating at peak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The Regional CE serves as an expert technical resource interacting with on-site Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT), CEs, Facility Managers (FM), and third-party vendors. The Regional CE also manages medium-to-large projects and programs from conception to completion, collaborating with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in local and global settings. Projects aim to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities. Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSS Operate independently with limited direct management Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the region Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures Create and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teams Provide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMs Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience Work cross-functionally across teams to drive cluster-wide performance improvements by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end-to-end employee experience Collaborate to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverables Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems Preferred Qualifications
Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure Company statements

The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market.
