Office Assistant
We are seeking an Office Assistant to join a well-established law firm located near Newton, MA. The Office Assistant will be responsible for front desk operations and providing administrative support to the legal team, including paralegals and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of receptionist or administrative experience, preferably in a legal setting.
This is a contract-to-hire position paying $24/hr for a 40-hour work week. The role requires onsite presence five days a week.
Responsibilities:
Answer and direct incoming phone calls courteously and professionally
Greet clients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment
Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and data entry
Draft and format legal and administrative documents
Support paralegals and legal assistants with clerical and case-related tasks
Maintain a clean and organized reception area
Sort and distribute mail; handle outgoing correspondence
Assist with scheduling meetings and managing conference room reservations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
At least 1 year of administrative or front desk experience
Legal or professional office experience preferred
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
