Test Equipment Design Engineer
to join its
Sensor Test Solutions (STS)
department. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in electrical design, software automation, and multidisciplinary test development. The successful candidate will lead the design and integration of advanced test platforms supporting mission-critical programs.
Design & Development: Architect and implement advanced test hardware, software, and firmware solutions across multiple domains including RF, analog, digital, and high-power systems.
Project Leadership: Lead small engineering teams, managing technical execution, cost, and schedule performance. Provide regular status updates to department leadership.
Lifecycle Engagement: Drive test solution development from requirements definition through deployment, verification, and final system sell-off in production or field environments.
Optimization & Readiness: Proactively identify test readiness challenges and implement process improvements throughout the development lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Guide mechanical engineers and suppliers in the design of custom test adapters, fixtures, and interface cabling, ensuring alignment with system requirements.
Manufacturing Support: Provide hands-on support for manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting, debugging, and test system integration.
Technical Communication: Prepare and deliver clear, concise technical presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the advancement of engineering capabilities within the organization.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in test equipment design and development
Proficiency in electrical design and test automation tools (e.g., LabVIEW)
Strong understanding of test engineering principles and practices
Experience with multidisciplinary test systems (RF, analog, digital, power)
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage project deliverables
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret DoD Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) programs and compliance standards
Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and defense acquisition processes
Hands-on experience with SAP and ProPricer
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
