Overview
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, our Reliability Engineer is an integral part of the Maintenance Department, responsible for applying engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products. There is potential for promotion to the Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent within 6-12 months. Responsibilities
Analyze demands for repair and improvement of industrial site manufacturing equipment. Identify solutions to recurring problems and propose the best solution to avoid repeat breakdowns and production downtime. Develop an efficient strategy for equipment, collecting relevant data about maintenance processes and activities; plan effective use of production/process equipment. Supervise contractors as necessary in accordance with all EHS regulations. Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs producible by existing facilities and methods. Assess engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data for industrial machinery and equipment design. Determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, space, time, and other factors. Use computer aided engineering and design software to design plant equipment, facilities, and production methods. Develop capital and expense projects by generating scope of work, alternatives, estimates, papers, specifications, budgets. Execute capital and expense projects by selecting contractors, issuing RFQs, awarding bids, overseeing work, inspecting/approving, and closing projects. Provide technical information on manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages/limitations affecting long-range plant and product engineering planning. Comply and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment; identify opportunities to improve existing systems. Stay informed on engineering and technical developments in the industry by studying publications. Assist with the design and implementation of Electrical/Mechanical preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial) 5-15 years of engineering experience, preferably in maintenance reliability and electrical (high voltage) in a heavy industrial environment Reliability Certification preferred Manufacturing experience preferred CMMS experience preferred Ability to work both first and partial third shift (55 hours a week) Knowledge of federal mining laws (MSHA) preferred Knowledge of mining methods and related equipment preferred Knowledge in installation, basic maintenance, or operation of mine ventilation and materials processing/handling systems and/or mine shaft maintenance preferred Work Environment
Must be able to climb ladders, steps, crawl and bend regularly Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Must be able to wear proper PPE including steel toe shoes and safety glasses Must be able to work safely in varying temperatures outside year round No sponsorship.
