THE ROLE You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group. The team is composed by physicists, chemists, biotechnologists, and engineers collaborating in a very multi-disciplinary group that aims to develop a new generation of single molecule sensor for real diagnostic applications. The Plasmon Nanotechnology Research Unit is coordinated by Francesco De Angelis, who has extensive experience in the development of new photonic and optoelectronic technologies for single molecule sensing. You will share with the team the responsibility of developing a new generation of single-molecule sensors powered by AI for digital diagnostics. The ultimate goal is achieving DNA and protein identification and sequencing at the personalized level, a transformative breakthrough for the future of digital medicine. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A PhD in nanotechnologies, physics, chemistry, engineering or related disciplines Documented experience in Nanofabrication (clean room), Nano-optics and Spectroscopies in the visible range, Plasmonics The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data Good command in spoken and written English ADDITIONAL SKILLS Knowledge of modelling software (like COMSOL or ANSYS) Ability to work in a challenging and international environment Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset COMPENSATION & BENEFITS A yearly gross salary ranging between 30,000 and 40,000 Euro Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.
