Overview

Senior Consultant - Civil Structural at Infinity Systems Engineering. Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) is seeking a Senior Consultant with expertise in civil and structural engineering. This position is responsible for performing Civil and Structural Engineering tasks and managing consulting projects, including consulting and damage investigations, engineering analysis and calculations; and presenting findings by preparing technical reports, repair drawings, and providing testimony and exhibits. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Forensic Investigations: handle construction defect cases, property liability and compliance cases, and cases involving post-damage assessments and scope of repairs. Perform analysis on temporary support systems for repair and construction, and analysis and design of structures and foundations. Conduct site inspections and perform analysis related to damage from storms or natural disasters. Experience preparing reports in support of dispute resolution is a plus. May testify as an expert witness or assist in preparing others to testify. Perform field inspections of residential, commercial, marine, transportation and industrial structures or equipment, to determine cause and origin of damages and to develop condition assessments and repair designs when required. Prepare and review technical project-related reports; confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems. Project & Practice Management

Lead or contribute to multidisciplinary teams; manage timelines, budgets, and client expectations. Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budgets. Adhere to ESi’s QA/QC standards by reviewing peers’ work. Ongoing continuing education, including presenting technical content. Mentor junior consultants to support professional development. Assist in other Civil Engineering projects run in the local office. Plan, manage, and coordinate work with ESi consultants to achieve project goals within timeframes and funding; supervise tasks by others when needed. Confer with project staff to plan work plans and assign duties and scope. Coordinate with the project lead to ensure progress; provide engineering services for tasks assigned by the project lead. Client Development & Collaboration

Develop local clients and projects, working with other ESi civil engineering resources. Communicate with clients to prepare or review project proposals and plans, determining tasks, schedule, budget, and procedures. Make recommendations on pursuing new projects based on variables; adjust scope as needed during projects. Conduct client and technical presentations. Engage in marketing and business development to identify potential clients and strategies; may represent ESi at events. Education & Experience

Master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution required. PE License required. 10+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering. Experience in a consulting environment preferred. Experience and familiarity with inspection and engineering of residential and/or commercial facilities. Structural inspection and condition assessment experience preferred. Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.). Some computer graphics skills; CAD capability is a plus. Ability to perform field work using test equipment commonly used in the field. Physical Demands
