We are seeking a talented and innovative Automotive Fascia Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in the design and development of Fascia Assemblies for our cutting‑edge vehicles, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functional performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering skills, a passion for automotive design, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. This is a direct hire opportunity and will require the person to be onsite in Auburn Hills. This role requires the Design Engineer to take ownership of the design from concept through production. The role also requires the Design Engineer to have current Catia V5 experience and will require a V5 test during the interview. JOB DESCRIPTION

Design and engineer fascia components such as substrates, bumpers, grille assemblies, bezel, skid plates, baffles, and ducts. Responsible for the final design robustness and product quality.

Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for production and prototype fascia components.

Collaborate with styling and engineering teams to ensure fascia components align with the vehicle's overall design and performance specifications.

Experience in managing engineering releases and change management for complex projects, including BOM management and related PLM activities.

Manage new program development by directing design best practices, provide tooling feasibility, material selection, participate in program risk analysis for safety and CAE, coordinate program deliveries.

In-depth knowledge of plastic materials, mold design and molding processes.

Be able to lead cost reduction and weight reductions activities and analyze the engineering impacted.

Troubleshoot using DOE process and other black belt methodologies.

Lead future technology road map for Exterior systems creating and implementing of new technology and design concepts.

Fosters continuous improvement in performance, quality and cost.

Well versed with global relevant standard & methodology.

Experience working with vendors located in India, Europe and USA

Essential Skills and Experience Required

An eagerness to work cross‑functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team

Working level expertise and proficiency with Catia, including drawing and modelling practices and methodologies

Hands‑on experience building and launching automotive products

Experience with Microsoft Office applications and other information management and project management tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Communication skills & interpersonal skills. Must have over 5 years working experience within the automotive industry.

Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in exterior trim design.

Continuously improve design processes and practices to increase efficiency and product quality.
