Adecco is hiring an Occupation Health Nurse for our medical device partner located in Carlsbad, CA. The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $75 and $76.40. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. About the role: *This role is 24 hours weekly initially; three days onsite* Responsible for activities related to developing, implementing and monitoring policies and procedures to ensure that the company meets and complies with all applicable regulations pertaining to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). Provides for and delivers health care services to workers and worker populations within an occupational setting to assist ill and injured employees to reach maximum health and productivity. Functions as a clinical case manager and coordinates an individual client's health care services across multiple systems from the onset of injury or illness to a safe return to work or an optimal alternative. Care is coordinated with a focus on achieving quality care delivered in a cost-effective manner. Using a unique knowledge of employees, their social or family system, and the work environment, the occupational health nurse assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the care for clients. Practices within the parameters of professional licensure to ensure consistency with legal, labor, regulatory and corporate requirements.
Responsibilities include: • Being a highly visible, engaged resource to the employees and the management team focused on risk assessment, injury prevention and ergonomics • Acts as a professional health resource for the organization's management in planning and maintaining initiatives and programs • Facilitates program and scheduling of medical surveillance exams, medical credentialing for in-scope field staff and all associated recordkeeping • Manages the medical records of employees in a confidential manner and in order to comply with appropriate regulations • Follows medical director standing orders and works independently. • Provides onsite medical services to employees including triage of occupational injuries, illnesses and exposures, and treatment or referral for further evaluation as necessary in accordance with clinical
guidelines/protocols • Provides common occupational medical testing and monitoring such as respiratory fit testing. • Understanding of CA Workers Compensation Law • Administers workers compensation program with 3rd party case management • Provides workers compensation case management and collaborates with healthcare providers, safety specialists, employee supervisors, employee and other members of the occupational health team. • • Collaborates with EHS colleagues to compile injury metrics and other data to be used in continual improvement of site safety program, including cyclical reporting and other miscellaneous site, and corporate communications • Participates in incident investigations when appropriate for OHN and after-action communication • Coordinate outside vendors for annual hearing tests, first aid training, CPR/AED training, blood drives, first aid kit supply, etc. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Must possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook • Must possess occupational health / electronic medical record experience, Cority/ experience helpful • Communicates with industrial hygiene, safety and management regarding perceived health problems related to workplace exposure and promotes the observance of good hygiene and safety practice in the performance of employees job duties • Administers bloodborne pathogen program and procedures • Participates on sites medical emergency response team (first aid only) and supports training facilitation • Participates in office ergonomics program, including ergonomic assessments and facilitation of improvement activities • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities: Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
Basic Qualifications: • Current Registered Nurse in state CA • 5+ years experience • Knowledge of Worker's Compensation and CA state laws • Knowledge of OSHA standards for injury recordability and recordkeeping • A seasoned, experienced professional with experience in occupational health in an
industrial/manufacturing
environment • Ability to work without appreciable direction and exercise considerable latitude in determining role objectives and driving outcomes • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality • Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; position requires occupational health / electronic medical record experience, Cority/experience helpful
Preferred qualifications: • Current COHN or COHN-S certification • Ergonomic injury triage / risk reduction experience in manufacturing, laboratory or office setting • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills • Other relevant training and/or certifications
Pay Details:
$75.00 to $76.40 per hour
