Job Description:
HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Assembler who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.
Accountabilities:
Preparing and retrieving parts and materials, potentially using forklifts, pallet jacks or hand trucks
Assembling products and components, following blueprints, schematics, or work instructions
Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and potentially machinery to complete assembling tasks
Assisting with routine maintenance
Inspecting assembled products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE requirements, transcendent quality standards, and safety critical requirements
Maintaining inventory records using scanning and tracking systems
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Collaborating with other assemblers and team members to meet production goals
Ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order
Identifying and reporting any issues or malfunctions
Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines as well as company policies
Must have the ability to:
Obtain a Forklift Operator certification
Manipulate small parts and tools with precision
Understand measurements and follow instructions
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
Lift, stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time
Learn new processes and procedures
Work in a fast-paced environment
Manually lift or lower items weighing
Push or pull efforts
