Overview
Data Analyst role at Canoe Intelligence. Hybrid in New York, NY or Jacksonville, FL. Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 base, plus bonus (base NYC adjustment will apply).
The Role
As a member of our Canoe Data Team, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring Canoe’s internal datasets are clean, organized, and analytics-ready. This position is ideal for someone who is deeply detail-oriented and enjoys turning raw data into structured outputs that generate business insights to improve how Canoe collects, tracks, and delivers client documents. You’ll help monitor Canoe Connect performance, streamline data flows, and support operational decisions that directly impact delivery and client outcomes. This is an opportunity for an early-career data analyst to apply their skills in a fast-paced, high-growth technology company.
What You’ll Do
Clean, organize, and maintain internal Canoe datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability
Analyze Canoe data to identify patterns, trends, gaps, and areas for operational improvement
Monitor existing document collection, extraction, and delivery operational workflows by analyzing Canoe Connect performance data
Transform complex data into easily understandable visualizations by building and maintaining reporting dashboards and automated reports that track operational KPIs
Use SQL and Python to query, clean, and manipulate large datasets to support analytical initiatives
Deliver clear, well-structured insights and visualizations to stakeholders across the organization
Help define and monitor metrics that support scalable and efficient growth of the Canoe Connect product
Support client-facing teams with data requests, trend analysis, and insights that improve customer outcomes
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to inform product decisions with data and improve internal tools and workflows
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience working with big data in a business or technical environment
Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets with clean, formula-driven workbooks
Proficiency with SQL: ability to query and manipulate large datasets
Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data analysis
Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
Strong attention to detail: data cleanliness, structure, and presentation
Analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and cross-functional stakeholders
Preferred
Familiarity with alternative investments and financial services data
Background or interest in Financial Technology or SaaS products
Exposure to business operations, data infrastructure, or operational analytics
Prior experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment
