You lead with empathy, align decisions to company values, and take ownership for operational excellence. About the Role Rennscot MFG is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our subtractive manufacturing (machine shop) and quality control (inspection) teams. This role is responsible for ensuring day-to-day execution, team accountability, and schedule adherence while supporting forward-looking planning to keep production running smoothly. With a growing team and an exciting mix of projects across aerospace, defense, and high-performance industries, this is an opportunity for a proven leader to step into a pivotal position and directly impact Rennscot MFG’s operational success. Responsibilities Team Leadership & Oversight – Supervise and coordinate daily operations across machining, inspection, and related departments; lead a team of machinists, programmers, inspectors, engineers, and operators; hold team members accountable for meeting objectives, maintaining quality, and completing documentation; conduct regular performance management, coaching, and corrective actions where necessary; ensure all decisions reflect Rennscot MFG’s mission, vision, and values. Operational Execution & Scheduling – Ensure adherence to daily and weekly production schedules; validate schedule feasibility and escalate risks when delivery dates are in jeopardy; approve and manage overtime, reassign resources, and balance workloads to maintain throughput; partner with scheduling and project engineering to ensure realistic planning and efficient execution. Compliance & Documentation – Verify completion of work orders and ensure accurate, timely documentation per AS9100 and customer requirements; reinforce adherence to internal quality standards and operating procedures; maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Continuous Improvement & Data-Driven Decisions – Champion a culture of lean thinking and continuous improvement across the manufacturing and inspection teams; empower employees to identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains; monitor key metrics (on-time delivery, utilization, quality yield) and take corrective action as needed; use ERP/MES data to drive accountability, track progress, and make informed, data-driven decisions. Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Project Engineering, Scheduling, Sales, and Additive Manufacturing to align resources and resolve production issues; support rework, troubleshooting, and handoffs between teams when needed; provide leadership with insights into staffing and resource needs to support future growth. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role (Supervisor, Team Lead, or similar). Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced, high-mix environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Familiarity with machining and inspection processes (sufficient to manage workflows, not necessarily to perform technical tasks). Experience with ERP/MES systems (ProShop experience a plus). Track record of holding teams accountable and delivering results against production objectives. High emotional intelligence with the ability to lead under pressure while making data-driven decisions. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Prior hands-on experience as a Machinist, Programmer, or Engineer. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training or certification. Formal degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field. Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
