Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain & maintain HSPD & Secret, preferred HSPD‑12 & Secret Active.

License/Certification Applicants selected must have a DC 3rd Steam Engineer License / Stationary Engineer's License.

Responsibilities

Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment.

Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure equipment operates within set parameters and safety standards.

Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements, ensuring all operations are logged and documented in compliance with organizational standards.

Ensure operations adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to stationary equipment operations.

Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of issues.

Act as a first responder during any stationary equipment emergencies, implementing safety procedures and addressing issues promptly.

Stay updated with the latest trends, equipment, and best practices in the field, attending workshops and training as necessary.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8+ years of facilities maintenance experience.

DC 3rd Steam Engineer License / Stationary Engineer's license.

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain & maintain HSPD & Secret; preferred HSPD‑12 & Secret Active.

Candidate Expectations

Familiarity with the operations, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, etc.

Strong problem‑solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications.

Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use, HVAC systems control applications.

Abilities

Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.

Work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.

Walk, climb, lift, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), ability to see in color and the ability to hear and communicate in English.

Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, recognizing there is a problem.

Pay Range USD $41.69 - USD $62.53 /Hr.
