License/Certification Requirement Applicants selected must have a DC 3rd Steam Engineer License / Stationary Engineer's License.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and Operation:

Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment.

Routine Inspections:

Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, ensuring equipment is operating within set parameters and adhering to safety standards.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements. Ensure all operations are logged and documented in compliance with organizational standards.

Compliance:

Ensure operations adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to stationary equipment operations.

Collaboration:

Coordinate with other maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of issues.

Emergency Response:

Act as a first responder during any stationary equipment emergencies, implementing safety procedures and addressing issues promptly.

Continuous Learning:

Stay updated with the latest trends, equipment, and best practices in the field, attending workshops and training as necessary.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10+ years of facilities maintenance experience.

DC 3rd Steam Engineer License / Stationary Engineer's license.

Candidate Expectations

Familiarity with the operations, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, etc.

Strong problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications.

Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use, HVAC systems control applications.

Abilities

The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.

Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.

Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.

Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.

May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Pay Range USD $45.40 - USD $75.05 /Hr.
