Job Description The Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford is seeking to fill a tenure‑track assistant professor position in Strategic Management beginning August 2026.

Responsibilities The successful applicant will ordinarily teach courses in Strategic Management and other management courses on‑site and online in undergraduate and graduate programs. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester. Specific responsibilities may change based on departmental needs. There may be opportunities to teach our innovative interdisciplinary and general education courses.

The Assistant Professor of Strategic Management is expected to maintain an active scholarly research agenda with peer‑reviewed publications and presentations at relevant business conferences to maintain the AACSB Scholarly Academic qualification and to make progress toward successful tenure and promotion.

The faculty member will also be expected to participate in department, college, and university‑level committees. The Assistant Professor will also serve as an advisor to students, guiding them in courses and career‑development.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Management with a Strategic Management concentration or a closely related area.

ABD candidates with documentation of degree completion before September 2026 will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Can teach a wide variety of strategic management and general management courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, both on‑site and online.

Have expertise in the management of innovation and technology strategies or health care management.

Demonstrate evidence of quality scholarly activities.

Show evidence of incorporating appropriate technology in teaching.

Have experience teaching diverse populations.

Demonstrate strong teaching ability and communication skills.

Show commitment to inclusive excellence and belonging.
